It’s National Infertility Awareness Week! This week we aim to bring awareness to infertility and its many causes while supporting those struggling with fertility issues. Nearly 1 in 8 couples struggle with infertility and many struggle alone but RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association has been working to erase the stigma and misinformation regarding infertility.
The best way to celebrate NIAW is by showing your support. Here are 3 ways to get involved this year:
- Wear Orange! Orange is the official color of Infertility Awareness Week. Show solidarity by donning some orange this week!
- Join a walk! Many cities across the country will be hosting a walk for NIAW but if yours isn’t, you can actually host one yourself (get more information about hosting an NIAW event or walk here.) There is a walk in Charlotte, NC on April 23rd from 10am to 12pm!
- Share on Social Media! Spread the word about NIAW on your social media and help break the cycle of misinformation.
If you think you may be experiencing fertility issues, schedule an appointment with your doctor to get checked. If you are someone who is looking to begin fertility treatment, contact the UNC Fertility specialists today!
