UNC Fertility is enrolling participants for the REBALANCE Study — a clinical trial evaluating a new approach to help women with infertility due to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), the leading cause of infertility in women.

The study is a one-time, outpatient procedure called Ovarian Rebalancing™, designed to help women ovulate. The procedure uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat a small portion of the ovarian tissue responsible for hormone production and takes about one hour under sedation and pain medication.

Who can participate? Women ages 18 to 40 with infertility due to PCOS.

If you qualify and choose to join the study, all study-related care is provided at no cost, and you will be compensated for your time and travel. After the procedure, you will visit your doctor’s office approximately six times over a three-year period to monitor your progress.

The REBALANCE Study is being conducted at select doctor’s offices across the U.S., including here at UNC Fertility.
